Project Rosmaninho involved the renovation of a large traditional villa in the heart of Praia da Luz. While rich in character, the property’s existing layout consisted of a series of small, enclosed spaces that felt dark, dated, and disconnected. Through a carefully considered renovation, we transformed the home by opening up the former laundry, kitchen, and dining areas to create a spacious L-shaped open-plan living environment.

Alongside the interior improvements, the outdoor spaces were upgraded to better connect with the home, resulting in a bright and functional property that combines modern living with the charm and character of its traditional architecture.

Transformation

The original villa featured a collection of enclosed rooms that limited natural light and created a disconnected living experience. To improve flow and functionality, we opened up the former laundry, kitchen, and dining areas, creating a spacious L-shaped open-plan layout that became the heart of the home.

A new bathroom was introduced to complement the upgraded interior, while the living space was extended onto the north-facing terrace through new tiling, waterproofing, and the addition of a bioclimatic pergola with modern glass balustrades. Custom timber decking and upgraded pool fencing completed the outdoor areas, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor lifestyle.
