Lavrador

Project Lavrador is a traditional villa located in Montinhos da Luz, full of character and potential. While the property offered generous outdoor space and a charming setting, its dated finishes and segmented layout resulted in a series of small, enclosed rooms that lacked flow and functionality. Working closely with the client, we delivered a complete renovation that transformed the home into a bright and contemporary living space.

By opening up the interior and introducing carefully designed extensions to both the front and rear of the property, we created a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area while preserving the villa’s original charm.

Lavrador

Transformation

The original villa featured a compartmentalised layout typical of older Portuguese homes, with multiple enclosed rooms that limited natural light and restricted the flow between living spaces. To create a more open and functional home, we reconfigured the interior and introduced a modern open-plan concept, complemented by thoughtfully designed front and rear extensions.

A spacious new kitchen, dining, and lounge area became the heart of the home, providing a seamless connection between everyday living spaces. Large sliding doors were installed to link the interior with the outdoor pool area, maximising natural light and creating a fluid indoor-outdoor lifestyle. The result is a beautifully balanced home that combines contemporary living with the property’s traditional character.
